How to get here
Part of Mike’s Camp’s amazing tranquility comes from it’s remoteness, but it doesn’t mean getting here has to be a pain! There are several flights a day to the nearest airport on Manda Island (code LAU), from there a quick speedboat to Kiwayu, standard charge is $250 each way for our small speed boat (approx. 6 pax + luggage) or $300 each way for the big boat (approx 10 pax + luggage).
Please note that we may put camp supplies on the boat to make your stay more comfortable!
Or perhaps a serene dhow sail for the same price? This this takes 6 hours and is dependent on winds and tides so please enquire for details.
It’s also possible to charter a plane (or fly your own!) to Kiwayu Airstrip (code KWY).
There are several airlines that fly to Lamu (Manda) from Nairobi Wilson, Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta, Malindi and Mombasa daily. They all accept online, in person and by phone bookings.
